Walking Festival April 20 - 29 2018
In 2017 the Dawlish Walking Festival was organised by Sustrans as part of the Destination Dawlish project. In 2018 Dawlish Transition has taken over the organisation of the third Walking Festival. We know from last year that local residents and tourists enjoyed taking part and wanted the festival to continue. Research also tells us that walking is very beneficial for people’s well-being and encourages them to be out and about. From 20th April – 29th April 2018 Dawlish will host more than 35 walking activities around the town and countryside. There were walks for all abilities and interests, long rambles, short poetry walks, bird watching, local history and spooky walks as well as healthy stretches along the lanes. For the first time it will also include the annual “Walking the Bounds” event led by the Mayor of Dawlish. A special walking quiz was also designed for children under 10 to take part in during the week.
